2020 year in Prints

2020 was a good year for printing. A bad year in a lot of ways, but for printing it was actually quite good, since I had to spend so much time at home.

I did a total of 14 print editions, most of them in very small batches, 4-5 prints per edition. I experimented with new printmaking methods: collagraphs with different textures (done with carborundum for example), more complex linocuts with several colors, jigsaw plates, etc.

It was also the year I got a press, which made my life so much easier, I think without it I would not have been able to complete so many projects.

It was also the year I participated for the first time in a printmaking exchange (International Print Exchange organized by Green Door studios in the UK).

I am excited for 2021 and hope I can experiment even more. I still haven't got around to try out plate lithography or silk aquatint (a particular type of collagraph) but I hope I'll finally try that in 2021.

Let's see what 2021 brings!
