A recent sketch done with Sennelier oil pastels over Sennelier oil paper:
1) I started with a simple sketch to establish the dimensions;
2) Then I used some watercolors as a background color, just to remove the white and have a reference to where the shadows would be;
3) Then I went in with the oil pastels, these are very creamy and you can lay down color very quickly with them;
This took me about an hour to do. Sennelier paper for oil pastels works very well, but the effect is very close to what you would get with a Canson Mi-teints for example.
Thanks for stopping by!
