Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) December 2021

This month was also productive in ATCs, I think I am getting slightly addicted to making them. This month I tried to experiment more with illustration, and took a lot of inspiration from other artists, namelyfrom the Dixit board game illustrations.

I am specially proud how this one turned out - I have called it "Travelling Cocoon". I used mixed media: watercolor, collage, black pen and a gold pen for the last details.

I am trying to be creative and use the atc(s) to test out different techniques, combinations and ideas. I have tried to search for prompts for illustrations, so I can get some tips from where to start and think about an illustration.

I am also continuing to illustrate some of my favorite book covers, it's a fun exercise and I was surprised that people liked it, I was able to trade most of them quite quickly.

I am also quite enjoying giving names to these tiny illustrations, from left to right, I have named the ones below: "Lost in blue", "Hello world!" and "Lost in tiles". The card under these three, is called "Turbulence Expert".

The dragon and little mouse illustrations were done from my imagination, inspired on illustration prompts.

I need to find a way of incorporating gouache and acrylics in these cards. I really like those mediums and I can see from other artists that you can make beautiful effects with these, but unfortunately they make much more of a mess, so I tend not to use them that much. I think starting next year, I am going to try to make more atc(s) using these mediums.

Thanks for stopping
