Had to take a bigger break due to school and work, but now I am excited to come back to printmaking projects that stayed in stand-by since the end of June.
I am planning quite a few linocut prints, particularly one bigger project regarding Zodiac Signs (you can see the design for Fishes and Taurus in the images below, the only two already on lino).
I am also looking forward to try out new printmaking methods, specially plate lithography and silk-aquatint. For the silk-aquatint, I got myself some structure gel from Winsor and Newton, since trying to do it just with acrylics and Liquitex mat medium didn't really cut it. I had already bought some silk, so I should be set to go with silk-aquatints.
For the plate lithography I am waiting for some polyester plates and lithography sticks that order on intaglioprintmaker.com - to do this technique you would also need a sponge (and some water), oil-based printing ink and a roller.
Besides my project for the Zodiac Signs, I am also planning on continuing my series of "art nouveau" flowers, started with my poppy that I completed months ago. So I've got a lot of plans that I will be hopefully reporting on in the future.
Thanks for stopping by!
